Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put the finishing touches on one of the finest seasons an NBA player could ever hope to have on Sunday night, elevating his team to a championship. It was the 84th victory for the Thunder and, to the surprise of absolutely no one, Gilgeous-Alexander earned NBA Finals MVP honors to go with his regular season honor.

SGA and the Thunder as a group have been fairly quiet and unassuming through their triumphant run through 2024-25 so perhaps it's not shocking that such an approach continued after Game 7. A relatively muted postgame locker room and introspective media hits led up to the players departing—where Gilgeous-Alexander summed up the year with impressive brevity.

"That's a wrap to your 2024-25 NBA season," he said. "It was fun. I appreciate it. See you guys next year."

"It was fun" may be understating it. Yet that's just what Gilgeous-Alexander & Co. are going to do. Considering how young they are and how many opportunities their stockpile of draft picks are going to present, it's entirely possible that this won't be the last time we're able too see them react to winning an NBA title.
