HAMPTON, Va (WAVY) — Imagine a world where you could put the pedal to the metal, drive your car as fast as you want, and NOT get in trouble for it?
Langley Speedway in Hampton gives you that opportunity with their Wacky Wednesday’s, an event that’s been held for over 15 years at the track.
“I love it. It’s the best thing you can do on a Wednesday night. If you got a few bucks laying around and you want to put some rubber on the road, can’t beat it,” said Chesapeake native driver, Jacob Priest.
The rules are simple, if you have $15 and a street-legal car, you’re good to race. You could even use your personal car to race other people on the track.
The events range from Time Attack, which awards the track’s fastest car, all the way to 1v1’s and Grudge Matches if you’re looking to settle a score.
“This is a lot more of a rush because you have that wall there. If you mess up you’re going into the wall,” said Virginia Beach native driver Dylan Hennet
