‘Hampton Roads Most Wanted,’ Bloods gang member captured in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 20-year-old fugitive who U.S. Marshals referred to as “Hampton Roads Most Wanted” was captured in Norfolk on Wednesday.

U.S. Marshals and multiple Norfolk Police units arrested Yasir Malik Smith around 1 p.m. at a residence in the 7700 block of Doris Drive, officials say.

Smith is a known member of the Bloods gang and had outstanding warrants in Chesapeake and Norfolk for narcotics charges, as well as Suffolk for two counts of attempted homicide and other charges, according to officials.

Norfolk Police attempted to capture Smith on Monday after he was spotted driving a black Mercedes near the intersection of E. Princess Anne Road and Ballentine Boulevard, but officials say Smith got away.

According to the U.S. Marshals, Smith was arrested without incident and is being held in the Norfolk City Jail.
