SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Suffolk couple came back to their home in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 8, opened their garage door, and found a man inside one of their vehicles, according to Suffolk police.  

The couple told police the man jumped from that vehicle and fired a shot at the vehicle the couple was inside as he ran away. No one was hurt, but police are now looking for a Norfolk man in connection to the shooting. 

Yasir Malik Smith, 20, has been identified by police as the suspect. He has outstanding warrants for shooting missiles at an occupied vehicle, two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of attempting to commit a non capital offense.
