OSC files complaints against Chesapeake sheriff

Chesapeake Sheriff David Rosado and Undersheriff Christopher Pascal used sheriff's office staff, resources and events to advance Rosado's failed candidacy during his 2025 campaign, according to the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, which has filed two complaints with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. The Office of Special Counsel alleges Rosado and Pascal committed "multiple, serious violations" of the Hatch Act during Rosado's 2025 campaign. Rosado denies the allegations, saying in a statement he strongly disagrees with its findings.
