NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — After suffering a narrow 31-28 loss to Sacred Heart last week, Norfolk State heads to Staten Island, New York to take on Wagner in the first of three consecutive road games.

NSU’s lone win of the season was a 34-31 overtime victory over Virginia State.

Wagner on the other hand is 0-4 with all of its losses being by double digits.

While the Seahawks are struggling, two of those losses were to FBS programs (Kansas, Central Michigan).

NSU has been more competitive than Wagner this season, but the Spartans only have one victory to show for it.

With a struggling team next on the schedule, coach Michael Vick says the Spartans really need to come home victorious.

“I definitely think it’s a must-win scenario, a must-win situation,” Vick said. “Regardless of what their record shows, we still have to go earn every blade of grass and we can’t take that lightly. We gotta dig deep and find a way to win.”
