Oasis Social Ministry is wrapping up August on a high note after facing a months-long funding drought to help fill its food pantry.

According to officials, officers were dispatched to the ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital in reference to a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found that a 34-year-old man was suffering from life-threatening injuries.
