CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Two women involved in a head-on crash on Taylor Road in Chesapeake Tuesday morning have died.
According to police, a Hyundai Sonata and Dodge Caravan collided in the 4400 block of Taylor Road around 11:15 a.m.
35-year-old Shanell Reid driving the Hyundai died on the scene. Her 78-year-old passenger, Annie Jones, was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The driver of the Caravan was also injured in the crash. Police have not released information on the extent of his injuries.
The road was closed for several hours as police investigated and worked to clear the scene.
Police say the investigation into the crash is ongoing and they haven’t definitely found that the driver of the Hyundai was at fault likely previously reported.
