The Los Angeles Lakers are being sold at a record price, ushering in a new era for the franchise. By any metric they are one of the most valuable and storied organizations in professional American sports with the trophy cases to prove it. And they already sport a roster that includes both Luka Doncic and LeBron James. But according to some experts, there could be even more aggressive moves and deeper pockets ahead.

Appearing on ESPN's Unsportsmanlike Radio Thursday morning, NBA insider Brian Windhorst shared his vision for Los Angeles' future.

"The Lakers are only going to get more dangerous as an organization with the more resources (theoretically here) that are going to be poured in."

Windhorst predicts that the "modernization" of the Lakers is about to come and said that's something other teams should not be excited about.

The $10 billion price tag is the thing that's going to get most of the attention but the really interesting story will be what changes are put in place in terms of how the franchise is run and how these translate—or don't translate—to success. Considering the Lakers' place at the center of the public eye, we're all about to learn a lot about the developing infrastructure and how the new regime compares to the last.
