The DP World Tour’s flagship event arrived at Wentworth, offering a $9 million purse and $1.53 million to the winner.
While 11 of the 12 European Ryder Cup team members were in the field, a Swede who is not on the team prevailed at Wentworth. Alex Noren won for the 12th time on the DP World Tour and for the second time at Wentworth, having also won in 1997. He defeated France’s Adrien Saddier on the first playoff hole.
