NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — After a 1-6 start to the 2025-26 season for the Norfolk State Spartans, head coach Michael Vick has announced multiple coaching changes.

10 On Your Side reached out to Norfolk State’s Athletics Communications staff for clarification and a spokesperson said they have no comment at this time.
In a press conference Tuesday, Vick mentioned that changes would be necessary for growth and that they would play “musical chairs” to figure out the staff.
“We obviously, in this game, have to look for opportunities to grow and get better and put our players in the best situation possible and my job as a coach is to figure that out,” Vick said.
The rumor initially circulated last week following a 31-14 defeat to the Wofford Terriers.
The green and gold defense has allowed an average of more than 31 points-per-game over the last seven games and have held just one opponent to under 20 points.
The Spartans will welcome the South Carolina State Bulldogs to William “Dick” Price Stadium at 2 p.m. Saturday.
