NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — It was a senior night sweep at Joe Echols Hall, as both the Norfolk State men’s and women’s basketball teams beat Morgan State Monday night.

The men’s team beat the Bears 69-60, and rebounding was the key for the Spartans, as they outrebounded Morgan State by 20. Philly Ings led the way for the Spartans with 12 points, while Jalen Myers dumped in a 10-point, 11-board double-double.

The women’s team completed a demolition job on the Bears. They won 90-46 and had six players in double figures. Diamond Johnson led the way for the Spartans with 22 points, and it’s now the 26th straight home win for NSU — the longest active streak in Division 1)

Both the Men’s and Women’s teams will head to South Carolina State for matchups with the Bulldogs Saturday, March 1.
