PORTSMOUTH (WAVY) – ESPN’s Shams Charania is reporting that Portsmouth native Dorian Finney-Smith has agreed to terms with the Houston Rockets on a four-year contract worth $53 million dollars.

This comes after Finney-Smith opted out of his $15 million dollar player option with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2025-2026 season.

The Rockets will be Finney-Smith’s fourth NBA team since coming into the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2016.

“Dodo”, as he’s called, began his career with the Dallas Mavericks and played almost seven complete seasons there. He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets where he played 114 games over three seasons. From there, he played 43 games for the Lakers this past season.

Finney-Smith won back to back state championships as a star at IC Norcom high school in the ’09-’10 and ’10-’11 seasons.
