VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Dwight Robinson’s Landstown boys basketball team is once again proving to be a state powerhouse in Class 6. The Eagles are 19-2 on the season and are prepping for a region semifinal matchup with Glen Allen Thursday.
It’s a young Eagles group that’s taking care of business this time around though. In fact, it’s what Robinson calls the youngest core he’s ever coached. He only has one senior and two juniors on the team, while two freshmen are in the starting five.
One of those freshmen, is Dwight’s son, Damien, who leads the team in scoring and has proven to be one of the best guards in the Beach. Damien Robinson is averaging 17 points and four assists in his debut varsity season, and has already garnered college offers from schools like Old Dominion and Radford.
Robinson and the Eagles will play Glen Allen in Virginia Beach Thursday at 6 p.m.
