HAMPTON, Va (WAVY) — Thankfully, the clouds held off in Hampton on Monday so that the third annual All-Tidewater Classic could take place at War Memorial Stadium.
The best of the best high school baseball players from around the 757 came together to put on a show for a couple hundred fans. While the baseball was EXTREMELY high level, the bigger message of the day was that this year, the game raised $8,000 for charity.
The Chesapeake native, Great Bridge legend Cuddyer said that’s what he always wanted to do this event he kickstarted three years ago.
“That was always the goal… To be able to now turn this into where we’re giving back to the community. We’re giving four $2,000 donations away. Hopefully as it continues to grow, we’ll be able to do more and give back,” said Cuddyer, a former 15-year Major League Baseball player and two-time All-Star.
