Remarkable Women is a nationwide Nexstar Media initiative to honor the influence that women have had on public policy, social progress and the quality of life.
Throughout Women’s History Month in March, WAVY News 10 will highlight four local women each Tuesday who inspire, lead and forge the way for other women. It’s not just about one day or one month — it’s about what they do, day-in and day-out.
We will reveal the winner on The Hampton Roads Show April 1, 2025. The WAVY Remarkable Woman of the Year will win a $1,000 donation to her charity of choice!
Five Regional Finalists will each receive an additional $5,000 for their selected 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
From the more than 100 winners selected at Nexstar stations from across the nation, one woman will be selected and named Nexstar Media Group’s Woman of the Year! This Remarkable Woman of the Year will be awarded $25,000 for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit closest to her heart.
The entry period for this year’s contest began Nov. 12, 2024 and continued until Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024.
