Operation School Supplies

Join 10 On Your Side’s Operation School Supplies to give students across Hampton Roads a fresh start in the classroom. WAVY-TV 10 and WVBT FOX43 have championed this mission for
33 years. We need your help to collect the tools kids need for a successful year.

This year’s initiative kicks off Friday, July 11, 2025 and culminates in a live donation event on Friday, August 1 at Patrick Henry Mall in Newport News from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., and the Target at Pembroke Square in Virginia Beach from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. that day. Stop by and say hi to a member of the WAVY team who will be on-site at both locations. You can drop off new school supplies and help make a difference for local students in need. A list of most-requested items includes: backpacks, folders, loose-leaf paper, spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, dry erase markers, glue sticks, scissors, rulers, headphones/earbuds, hand sanitizer, and tissues.

In addition to physical donations, monetary contributions can be made using the link below. Our sponsor, Chesapeake Bank, will get your donations to those that need it most.

If you’re considering donating supplies, keep in mind that Virginia’s sales tax 3-day holiday weekend is August 1-3, 2025. This coincides with WAVY’s live donation event.

At this time, we’re no longer accepting physical school supplies. See above for your way to donate monetarily.

Our sponsors, Chesapeake Bank, Kellam, Patrick Henry Mall, Harrison’s by Apple Moving, and United Way South Hampton Roads will be instrumental in helping us collect school supplies that our local school systems so desperately need. All collected supplies will be distributed directly to local school districts and educational organizations.
