NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Newport News police arrested Keyazia Pitt after they say she pretended to be someone else when officers pulled her over for a suspected counterfeit state inspection sticker.

When police pulled Pitt over on November 12, she didn’t show a driver’s license and gave police a false name. Pitt signed that false identity on four summonses for the traffic infractions.

In court on February 5, the person Pitt pretended to be showed up in court and testified she was not the person on the summonses. Officers checked the vehicle information and found the car was registered to Keyazia Pitt, the same woman police pulled over in November.

Pitt was arrested and charged with 12 counts of forgery, identity theft, falsely identifying herself to law enforcement, using a fake vehicle inspection sticker and a number of other charges.
