Virginians see Starlink satellites as a part of SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch

CAPE CANAVERAL, FL (WAVY) – An additional 28 Starlink satellites were placed into the atmosphere early Saturday morning by the launch from a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch happened around 5:01 a.m. according to Spaceflight Now, making this the 91st Falcon 9 launch of the year so far.


More than 8,000 satellites have been launched this year, as the launch on July 19 marked the first time that number has been reached.

Various Virginians and WAVY 10 viewers sent in their photos of the satellites traveling through the sky in the early morning hours.
