VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A recent report shows that gas prices have remained steady in recent weeks, with the national average showing that drivers are paying less at the pump than at this time last year.

According to the newest report from AAA Tidewater Virginia, the average national price for a gallon of gas today is $3.07, down ten cents from last month and eight cents from this time last year.

Meanwhile, Hampton Roads prices have dropped five cents from last week, and currently sit at $2.91. This price is nine cents lower than this time last month, and down two cents from last year.

The report also reiterates that prices should continue to fall as people take less road trips, suggesting that the national average could soon go beneath the $3 mark.
