RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Raceway is among a dozen race tracks that have been acquired by NASCAR as part of a $2 billion deal.
The Associated Press is reporting that NASCAR on Wednesday has purchased International Speedway Corp., which owns Richmond Raceway and 11 other racetracks around the country.
The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
ISC owns 12 tracks that host NASCAR races, including Richmond Raceway, Martinsville Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Darlington Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Richmond Raceway declined to comment on the deal.
