Flags at half-staff in Virginia for fallen VBPD officers

RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — Flags will be flown at half-staff across Virginia on Saturday, March 1 in memory of two Virginia Beach Police officers killed in the line of duty.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin issued the order Friday, stating that all state and American flags at state and local buildings are to be lowered to half-staff at sunrise and should remain that way until sunset.

This is being done in honor and memory of Virginia Beach Police Department police officers Christopher Reese, 30, and Cameron Girvin, 25, who were shot and killed during a traffic stop on Friday, Feb. 21.
