Suffolk man wins $1 million in Powerball lottery

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A local man hit the jackpot when he discovered he won $1 million from the Virginia Lottery.

Wesley Odom of Suffolk says, “We didn’t sleep at all last night!”

The Virginia Lottery says Odom’s winning ticket was purchased at an Exxon located off North College Drive in Franklin back in December. The Exxon also wins a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

What’s Odom going to do with his new found winnings? He says he has no immediate plans.

The Powerball drawings are announced on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. weekly. You can watch them live here.
