VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A fire that heavily damaged a Virginia Beach house last Friday has been ruled arson, officials say.

The Virginia Beach Fire Department said in a news release Monday the Oct. 26 fire in the 5800 block of Goolagong Drive was arson.

Friday’s fire marked the second time this house was damaged in blaze in 2018. A fire in January displaced a family of eight living at the home — but the cause of that fire was undetermined.

Officials said the house was undergoing renovations when it caught fire on Friday.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the Oct. 26 fire to call the Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-UP or the Virginia Beach Fire Marshal’s office at 757-385-4228.
