NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Incumbent Commonwealth’s Attorney for Norfolk Ramin Fatehi has officially won his relection bid against challenger John F. Butler in the June primary.
Fatehi has served in that role since 2021.
In an interview with WAVY, Fatehi was surprised how much money his competitor raised.
“Like crime is down. The jail population is down. Like, this is success. Like, why? Why did people raise three quarters of $1,000,000 to unseat me in a world of falling crime and falling jail numbers? That’s the only answer that I can think of is power. That that I’m in the wrong political club and the people want me out,” Fatehi said.
In an earlier community forum, Butler made his case for Norfolk CA.
“I want to deliver justice to victims and i want Norfolk to be a safe home for everybody regardless of where you live what your race is economic background everyone deserves to be safe and feel safe.”
