Why are you running for office?

The current Treasurer is retiring. I’m stepping up to continue the positive changes we’ve been making to modernize the office.

If you are elected, what will be your top priority in office?

I’ve been working on a project to update the tax software. My top priority will be to complete this project, bringing more convenient payment options to the citizens of Chesapeake, as well as increased access to their tax accounts.

What is the top challenge facing your office and how will you address it?

We are always challenged by economic downturns. We strive to balance the needs of the City, robust collection of assessed taxes, and be sensitive to challenges facing Citizens experiencing hardship. We are always willing to work out a payment plan for Citizens in need.
