Biography

I was born and raised in Southampton County. I graduated in 2007 from Southampton High school. I was the Culinary Arts instructor at Southampton High school from September 2017 to January 2024. I was also the Varsity coach for Cross Country, Wrestling, and Boys Tennis. I am currently self employed. I have a wife and two kids.

Why are you running for office?

I worked in the school system and I understand the frustrations of teachers and coaches working for Southampton. I want to make positive changes to help keep teachers and coaches. It’s time to rewrite the playbook and establish trust between the school board and the community.

If you are elected, what will be your top priority in office?

Retaining the teachers we have left and building real programs is the top priority. We need to promote Career and Technical Education. At one point CTE had a welding shop, electrical class, masonry, woodworking, and many other programs that thrived. All those classes have everything still in them without a teacher. We need to see what talent is out there and build new programs based on our best options and what’s best for our county.

Do you believe partisan politics have a place in schools?

No I don’t care for politics. I believe in doing things right for the benefit of our community.

What say should parents have in the curriculum taught to their child?

As a parent I think we should be able to see what our kids are learning so we can help them if needed. I say that because I have a five year old in kindergarten.

How do you work with others you don’t agree with?

Sometimes you have to put differences aside to get things done it’s just business.
