Police: Newport News man fires shots at woman driving away

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A 20-year-old Newport News man has been arrested for firing several shots at a woman as she drove away in her vehicle on March 27, according to police.  

The victim told police around 10:30 p.m. that she was leaving the area in her vehicle when the suspect, Harfrenne Rodriguez Miranda, fired several shots at her in the 300 block of Bell King Road. 


The victim was at the suspect’s home when the shooting happened.

Police say the offender reportedly threatened to kill the victim over a past incident. 

Officers arrested Harfrenne for brandishing a firearm, maliciously shooting/throwing at a vehicle, malicious wounding, shooting a firearm in a public place, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and reckless handling.
