HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — An arrest has been made after a man was stabbed and a woman was shot dead during an argument at the Cambridge Apartments on Sunday. 

Hampton Police announced Monday night that 22-year-old Christian Neal, of Hampton, was arrested and charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of discharging a firearm within an occupied dwelling. 

Police say they were called to the complex located in the 5000 block of Goldsboro Drive around 4 p.m. for the stabbing. While on the way, they learned a shooting had also occurred.  

A man with a stab wound, who police say was Neal, and a woman with a gunshot wound were found by police when they got to the scene. 

Police say Neal was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but he’s expected to be OK. The woman, identified as 23-year-old Amber Greenidge, of Hampton, was pronounced dead at the scene 

The two knew each other, according to police. They believe Neal and Greenidge lived together and got into an argument that turned physical. At some point during the altercation, Neal was stabbed and Greenidge was shot.
