KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. (WAVY) — A family of three is without a home after a fire in Kill Devil Hills Wednesday afternoon.
The fire happened around 1:25 p.m. on Mybet Court in Colington, with fire officials saying a father and daughter were in the home when the fire broke out, but the two managed to escape safely.
Colington firefighters responded quickly and found most of the flames in the back of the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the American Red Cross is helping the family.
