MANNS HARBOR, N.C. (WAVY) — On Wednesday, the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division is planning a temporary ‘phone only’ reservation system.
The department is trying to transition to a new online reservation system that is expected to be in place by early February.
During the transition period, all reservations for the Cedar Island-Ocracoke and Swan Quarter-Ocracoke ferry routes will be taken over the phone at 1-800-BY-FERRY or in person at the ferry terminal.
All payments will be made upon arrival at the time of departure. Reservations on those routes are accepted up to 90 days in advance.
All other routes in the ferry system will continue to operate without reservations.
