Power outage in Elizabeth City rescheduled to Thursday night

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — A planned power outage initially set to occur overnight on Wednesday in Elizabeth City has been rescheduled.

A Facebook post from Elizabeth City Public Works stated that instead of the power outage beginning on June 30 at 12 a.m., it will instead happen late Thursday night and extend into the early morning hours of Friday. The outage is expected to last approximately three to five hours.

The outage is necessary to complete an unforeseen oil leak repair.

Below is a map of the affected areas. Residents in these areas are encouraged to plan accordingly and take any necessary precautions to remain safe and comfortable during the service area.
