The N.C. Department of Transportation is advising motorists in Elizabeth City to use extra caution overnight Thursday into Friday, due to the planned power outage.

The outage will affect traffic signals throughout the city. If you see a traffic signal that is out, treat it as an all-way stop.

When power is restored, NCDOT said some traffic signals may enter an all-red flash mode. Intersections operating in this mode should also be treated as all-way stops.
