NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Federal Building in downtown Norfolk has been given the all clear after being evacuated Monday afternoon due to a bomb threat, officials say.

Chief Harry Worley with Norfolk Fire-Rescue tells WAVY.com a threat was called into the building around 1:15 p.m. The building was evacuated as a result.

Norfolk police said in a tweet traffic lanes around the building were blocked as authorities investigated the threat, and announced just after 3:40 p.m. that all roadways and light rail service were back to normal operations.
