PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Drug Enforcement Administration is gearing up for its biannual Take Back Day this Saturday.
The event, held in the last Saturday of the months April and October, is part of a nationwide effort by the DEA to encourage people to safely and anonymously get rid of unneeded or old prescription drugs.
During the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., people will be able to drop off medications in an effort to prevent medication misuse and opioid addiction. Drop off locations can be found on Take Back Day’s website here.
