EDENTON, N.C. (WAVY) — A man wanted for murder in an eastern North Carolina town has turned himself in over the weekend.
Edenton police said in a Facebook post 31-year-old Andrew Jerome Cooper surrendered to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation on March 1.
Cooper is charged with the murder of Dwight A. Coston.
Police said Coston was found stabbed on N. Granville Street and E. Carteret Street Feb. 14, and was later pronounced dead at Vidant Chowan Hospital.
Cooper is being held at Chowan County Jail on a $1 million bond.
