NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The last of five people charged in a 2017 homicide in Norfolk has been sentenced for the crime.

Russell Barrington pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

A spokesperson with Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney Office said Barrington was then sentenced to five years in prison — but four years were suspended – leaving him one year to serve.

Barrington and four others have now been convicted and sentenced in connection with the fatal shooting of Pedro Cain in Ocean View back in May of 2017.
