PORTSMOUTH, Va.(WAVY) — A man is hurt after being shot in Portsmouth early Tuesday morning.
According to police, officers were called to the 700 block of Piedmont Ave at 12:33 a.m. for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unclear at this time.
Photos from the scene show a heavy police presence in the area.
Police have not released any suspect information.
