JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A man convicted of killing his mother in James City County is facing life in prison.
A jury found Michael Alan Webb guilty of first-degree murder last August. Court records show he received a life sentence during a hearing on Feb. 20.
Police say his mother, Edna Webb, was found dead at her home in Williamsburg’s Brookside Haven neighborhood in May 2017 after officers repsonded to a welfare check call.
According to police, the 67-year-old showed signs of blunt force trauma.
Court documents showed Michael Webb, who was 34 at the time, had been ordered to leave his mother’s home within 30 days just one day before she was killed.
