WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people injured on Sunday.

At around 1:41 a.m. on Feb. 25, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Sixth Street and Spring Street adjacent to ALV Nightclub on 675 W. Fifth St.

Police say that the nightclub and a car were shot.

While investigators were still at the scene, two gunshot victims arrived at a local hospital on foot.

Their injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators say three people have now been arrested in connection to the shooting.

Rulie Penaloza-Ramirez, 22, was arrested and charged with:

  • 20 felony counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle while in motion
  • felony possession of weapon mass destruction
  • felony possession of firearm by felon

Ramirez appeared before the magistrate where he received no bond allowed.

Alexander Rubio, 18, was arrested and charged with felony discharging a firearm from within an enclosure.

Rubio appeared before a magistrate where he received a written promise.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with felony discharging a firearm within an enclosure. A secure custody order was obtained.

The investigation is ongoing.
