WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Purr-pare for the return of the Virginia Cat Festival this November with two days of excitement and education for lovers of the feline friend.
The Virginia Cat Festival will take place Nov. 1-2 at the Williamsburg Lodge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will feature a cat-themed vendor mar-catplace, workshops with experts to educate cat owners about community stray or feral colonies, first aid and health tips, and enrichment ideas.
Speakers and guests include the following:
- Cowboy Cat Wrangler who practices Trap-Neuter-Return and rehoming for feral and stray cat colonies across Philadelphia
- Arden Moore is an author and speaker known as America’s Pet Health and Safety Coach who taches her veterinarian-approved Pet First Aid 4U program around the world
- Drennon Davis is the worldwide cat comedian and performer known for his series featuring his talking business cats and performances on NBC and Comedy Central
- Kate Benjamin is the founder of Hauspanther, a designer and manufacturer for handmade tors, beds, and cat products that stray away from the compromise of aesthetic in homes. Also known for her appearance on Jackson Galaxy’s My Cat from Hell, and two New York Times bestsellers co-authored by Benjamin and Jackson.
- Laura Cassiday is a certified consultant in cat behavior and founder of Pawsitive Vibes Cat Behavior and Training, anti-declaw active advocate, author of The Complete Guide to Adopting a Cat, and serves as Feline Division Chair of the Pet Professional Guide
- Moshow is the motivational speaker also known The Cat Rapper who is inspired by his 5 cats: Black $avage, Strawberry Lemonade, Lil Parmesan, Fried Onions, and Crab Cakes.
There will be a cat adoption opportunity, partnered with the nonprofit animal rescue organization, Critters 4 U Rescue, who encouraged those interested to review adoption requirements in advance.
To further spread the community’s love for the furry friend, there will be activities and games at the mar-catplace, and a “Cats: The Jellice Ball” themed entertainment night with music, dancing and drinks.
Tickets can be bought here, with a detailed program including times to come out later. Cats cannot be brought to the event in order to prioritize safety, so prepare your camera roll with photos to show off your cats!
