What a soggy week it’s been across Hampton Roads — we’re going to wrap it up with a round of showers and thunderstorms Friday evening that could pack a punch. Rain chances for the remainder of the weekend remain isolated as we finally usher in some drier weather and brighter skies.

Track 1
Wrap It Up by Sam & Dave
This soggy week of weather gets wrapped up with a potent, fast moving storm system that blasts into the region Friday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected with this round of rain, and some of which could be strong to severe so let’s be sure to stay weather aware. Since it’s finally kicking out this soggy pattern, it’ll pack a punch, and some damaging wind gusts are possible.

Track 2
In The Evening by Led Zeppelin
The showers and rain activity from overnight into the morning will taper off through mid-morning or so, so most of the day Friday should be dry. We’ll even get a little sunshine to boost our temperatures into the low 80s. But it’s by the evening that the round of showers and thunderstorms racing into the region. They should move out by the late night hours.

Track 3
One Last Breath by Creed
I wish I could say the weekend will be totally rain free, but we still have one last gasp of rain to contend with on Saturday. It won’t be a washout, in fact we’ll have plenty of sun throughout the day. But by the afternoon there may just be a few isolated downpours or rumbles of thunder.

Sunday will be the day this weekend — low humidity, sunshine and temperatures near 80°. That dry weather and bright sunshine should carry over for a good chunk of next week as well.

Have a great weekend!
