VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Virginia Beach Animal Services is crediting a team effort for the rescue of a deer Thursday morning.
The deer fell into a culvert and got stuck, but following the efforts of several local agencies, it has been returned back to the wild, according to a social media post about the rescue.
The Virginia Beach Fire Department led the charge in removing the deer, and the Virginia Beach Animal Enforcement Unit coordinated the response.
“This rescue wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources Biologist, Virginia Beach Police Department, Dominion Energy and Mastec all working together to ensure a safe outcome!! We’re proud of the compassion, professionalism, and teamwork shown by every agency involves.”
