VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The outdoor memorial for Officers Cameron Girvin and Christopher Reese, which was temporarily dismantled on Wednesday due to severe weather, will be put back up on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Virginia Beach Police Department shared in a Facebook post that the memorial, located at the Fourth Precinct, would be restored when conditions permit.
Thursday morning, police told 10 On Your Side that the memorial would be put back in place later on in the day.
It will then remain in place until March 11, 2025.
The police department is actively working to create a more permanent tribute to honor the fallen officers.
