VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Organizers with the Something in the Water Festival have asked the city of Virginia Beach for an extension after missing their Dec. 31 deadline.
Organizers were asked by officials with the city to announce the festival’s lineup and ticket sales prior to Dec. 31 as part of several conditions for the city to financially support the festival, after it was abruptly postponed from this past October until April, just hours after tickets went on sale.
Ali Weatherton, Public Information Officer for Virginia Beach, released a statement on the proposed extension:
The Something in the Water Team has asked for an extension for releasing the festival’s lineup and ticket sales. Staff will present this request to City Council and discuss what direction Council wants to take at that point.
