VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — For the third year in a row, Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is bringing back its Parks After Dark program — and this time with even more locations!

During the free event, which runs from June 5 though Aug. 23 on most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, people will be able to enjoy live music, watch movies, play games and take part in video game tournaments.

This year’s program is expanding to include two additional locations, including the Level Green and Green Run areas. Locations and times can be found below:

  • Williams Farm Park — June 5 through Aug. 23 from 6-11 p.m.
  • College Park Elementary — June 14 through Aug. 9 from 6-11 p.m.
  • Rosemont Elementary — June 14 through Aug. 9 from 6-11 p.m.

The program, which was introduced at Williams Farm Park in 2023, aims to create a safe and welcoming environment for families and individuals during the evening hours. Partners of the program include he Mayor’s Youth Violence Prevention Task Force, Virginia Beach Public Library, Virginia Beach Police Department, Virginia Beach Cultural Affairs Department, Department of Human Services and Virginia Beach City Public Schools.

Those interested in attending one of the events throughout the summer will have to check-in at the Guest Service tent, where they will receive a hand stamp and food voucher while supplies last. A recreation center membership is not required.

A release from the city also states that each weekend will feature new themes and movies.
