VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — From the 10th floor between the Hilton Oceanfront and Hampton Inn hotels on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, urban highlining — slacklining taken to new heights — is part of this year’s Jackalope Festival, which started Thursday and will continue through Sunday.
It’s described as “a breathtaking mix of balance, skill and courage,” and one person showed that Thursday, as captured by WAVY viewer Tom Klett.
The person was on the highline walking between the hotels and lost balance, falling off the wire but, strapped in by a safety harness, only dangles a few feet off the highline and is able to pull back up to sit on the line.
