VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Just in time to close out soup season, the 15th Annual East Coast She-Crab Soup Classic returned to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on Saturday with a special celebrity chef.

The classic took place on Saturday, April 5 from noon to 2:30 p.m. at 31st Street Park. 10 local restaurants participated, including Blue Pete’s, Catch 31, Citrus, CP Shuckers, Rockefeller’s, Scotty Quixx East, Tempt, Tides Coastal Kitchen, Yiannis and Waterside Seafood Company.

Celebreity chef and host of “The Great Food Truck Race,” Tyler Florence, was a judge on the panel, alongside Patrick Evans-Hylton, Ken Lees, Darlene Stevenson and April Burke.

Prior to the event, “The Great Food Truck Race” filmed on Atlantic Avenue and 31st Street. During the filming, fans were encouraged to visit the various food trucks available.
