Court docs reveal new details on former Virginia Beach officer accused of felony sex offense

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Recently acquired court documents reveal what led to an on-duty Virginia Beach Police officer being charged with a felony sex offense.

According to court documents, on June 14, 2024, former officer Sean Fearon responded to the Haygood area of the city for reports of a fender bender. The documents state that a woman rear ended another vehicle, leading to minor damage to both vehicles.

After responding to the incident and letting the other driver leave the scene, Fearon helped to move the woman’s vehicle to the nearby Truist bank, as her car was leaking fluids at the time, according to court documents. After remaining at the bank for around 20 minutes, the woman reportedly asked Fearon to follow her to a nearby Jiffy Lube, the documents state.

While at the scene of the crash and at the Truist bank, paperwork alleges that Fearon and the woman were flirting and touching each other sexually.

The documents then allege that the woman got into the back of Fearon’s police vehicle after an hour of speaking at the Jiffy Lube, where the pair then drove to the woman’s home. The entire encounter was said to have lasted around two hours.

Documents claim the woman, who was never held against her will or handcuffed during the encounter, initiated the sexual contact, and that her boyfriend is the one who reported the incident.

Following the report, Fearon was then charged with abduction with intent to defile, object sexual penetration and destruction of evidence. Fearon then remained in custody until November of 2024, when he was released on bond. Fearon’s bond was recently revoked due to an unrelated misdemeanor.

The Virginia Beach Police Department confirmed Fearon is no longer employed with the department. A spokesperson said he resigned and has not been with VBPD since November.
