VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police responded to a barricade situation Friday morning at Colony Mobile Home Park. The incident ended with an arrest.

Police were called to the 900 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. just after 2 a.m. about a man threatening to shoot two people he had reportedly just assaulted as well as police, if they were called.

When police arrived, the two assault victims made it out of the house, but the suspect refused to follow the officers’ commands and barricaded himself inside the residence.

SWAT was called to assist with negotiations.

The suspect, 38-year-old Dennis Matthew White, was taken into custody without incident around 7:30 a.m.

He was charged with two counts of abduction and two counts of assault and is being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail without bond.

Police said the two victims were not hurt.
